As part of the library media curriculum, students are expected to be reliable and safe digital citizens. In the beginning of the school year, students are introduced to the expectations for their grade level as well as the GPS Responsible Use Policy (RUP) (Look for policy number 6141.321). These rules are reinforced both in the classroom and in the media center throughout the year. Students are held accountable for their actions online and on their devices.

GPS will host a safety seminar for families and staff on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:30 PM in Cos Cob School’s cafe/auditorium, with special guest Chief of Police Jim Heavey. This forum is not because we are seeing concerns in GPS, it is simply to help keep our families and staff well informed of our protocols and outstanding safety team. We will discuss many different safety topics, including: PK-12+ security, additional secure entryways, and updated video surveillance systems. If time allows, we will take questions from parents and staff in attendance. We will also post a recording of the forum on the district’s YouTube page for future viewing.
