Standardized assessments are given throughout the school year to monitor student progress. The STAR assessment is given to students in grades K-5 and the Smarter Balance Assessment (SBA) is given in the spring to students in grades 3-5.

GPS will host a safety seminar for families and staff on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:30 PM in Cos Cob School’s cafe/auditorium, with special guest Chief of Police Jim Heavey. This forum is not because we are seeing concerns in GPS, it is simply to help keep our families and staff well informed of our protocols and outstanding safety team. We will discuss many different safety topics, including: PK-12+ security, additional secure entryways, and updated video surveillance systems. If time allows, we will take questions from parents and staff in attendance. We will also post a recording of the forum on the district’s YouTube page for future viewing.
